Difficulty Rating
A difficulty rating is a venue's way of communicating how challenging a particular escape room is, helping players choose the right experience for their skill level. Ratings are typically expressed on a numerical scale (1–5 or 1–10) or as descriptive tiers (beginner, intermediate, expert). Factors that influence difficulty include puzzle complexity, the number of puzzles, how linear the game flow is, time pressure, and whether the room requires specialized knowledge. First-time players should generally start with lower-difficulty rooms to learn the mechanics before tackling expert-level challenges. At Escape Hour, each experience page clearly shows the difficulty level so you can choose with confidence.
