Glossary Term
Game Master
A Game Master (GM) is the staff member who oversees your escape room experience from a monitoring station. They watch your progress via cameras, deliver hints when your team requests them (or when you're stuck), manage the room's special effects and technology, and ensure everyone's safety throughout the game. A great Game Master knows when to nudge and when to let you struggle — they're the invisible hand guiding your adventure. At Escape Hour, our Game Masters are trained performers who stay in character, adding another layer of immersion to every session.
