Lock & Key
Lock and key is the foundational mechanic of traditional escape rooms. Players solve a puzzle to discover a combination, code, or physical key, which they then use to open a padlock, combination lock, or locked container — revealing the next clue or puzzle. While modern escape rooms have evolved to include electronic sensors, RFID triggers, magnetic locks, and mechanisms, the lock-and-key format remains a beloved staple. Many rooms blend classic physical locks with high-tech elements. At Escape Hour, we use a mix of traditional and technology-driven interactions to keep puzzles varied and surprising.
